What can we learn from the Health sector?

The Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts have had a major impact on how an Acute Trust manages its records, particularly its administrative records. The NHS Information Governance targets have driven improvements in this area, supported by the Department of Health's 'Records Management: NHS Code of Practice' (2006).

I will talk about my own Trust's experiences of records management, and how the 'hidden treasure' of health records management is an under-appreciated resource that has the potential to lift us out of the mire.
