Ismail Maraie, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company ADNOC
Ismail Maraie is the head of the Corporate Archive Section in the Abu Dhabi National Oli Company ADNOC. He has 26 years of experience in Records Management, and has been actively involved in the development of record keeping in ADNOC over that period. This includes the time when there was literally no knowledge of record keeping, to the point today when ADNOC’s systems are seen as amongst the best in the Arabian Gulf.
ADNOC was established in 1971, to operate in all areas of the oil and gas industry. It now has 15 affiliated companies working in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, including transportation and other services. In consequence it’s record holdings are a reflection of this multi-faceted industry.
Ismail’s current role within the organisation is to plan, organise and direct all activities concerning the management of semi-active and inactive records from receipt, through storage and retrieval, to eventual disposition, in accordance with UAE Federal Law. He also provides operational assistance to organisational units throughout the Adnoc Group companies, in the development and maintenance of their active ‘on-floor’ filing systems.
Ismail has a strong interest in ensuring that best practise record keeping is understood, practiced and disseminated throughout the organisation…
