Eleanor Russell, The National Archives
Eleanor Russell has worked in a range of information and records management roles both inside and outside the National Archives. Currently, she works within the IT Strategy Department at the National Archives where she is taking forward a project on Information Management Capture and Management Tools (formerly known as Next Generation EDRM) and assisting with the management of the e-Government Metadata Standard.
Previously, she was on loan to the Cabinet Office where she had responsibility for developing the corporate file plan through co-ordinating the production, training information managers and quality checking the products. In addition she provided expert advise to both business units and the project team on a range of information and records management issues.
Eleanor is an EDRM system specialist with an MSc in Information Science and has special interests in collaborative working, interoperability and information management processes. She has contributed to National Archives guidance on interoperability and sustainability and is the author of "Guidelines on Developing a Policy for Managing Email". She was a key member of the National Archives ERM test team, evaluating compliance against the 2002 Functional Requirements.
