Ireland Group

Leader(s): Dorothy Quinn, Claire Graham - contact

Main Contacts: Dorothy Quinn, Chair and Claire Graham, Secretary. Contact: IRMS Ireland Group.

The Ireland Group of the Information and Records Management Society has been established to cater for all those from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland faced with records management issues.

Formed in late 2005 to create a networking opportunity for records management professionals to share knowledge and experience and promote the function of records management, the group has gone from strength to strength. Meetings have been held in Belfast, Dublin, Cork and Galway and have attracted a wide range of attendees from both the public and private service. This has been largely due to the quality of speakers and topics over the years covering a variety of themes such as: - Challenges, Opportunities and Developments in Records Management, Electronic Document Records Management Systems, Email Management and Corporate Governance, Preserving and Protecting your Assets, Disaster Recovery and Document Restoration, Legal Admissibility of Electronic Records, Information Audits, Developing a Records Management Strategy and many more. See website for comprehensive range of topics.

Joint sessions with the Archives and Records Association of Ireland have proved extremely popular in recent years contributing to further sharing of experiences and a deeper understanding of each others functions.

Our intention is to continue to develop the group and address present and ongoing challenges. We are always on the look out for new members and indeed sponsors. If you feel that you would like to make a contribution or simply increase your knowledge and understanding of information and records management, please contact us at IRMS Ireland Group.
