12 November 2009 - Ireland Group - Meeting
The 3rd annual Joint Meeting of the Society of Archivists Ireland Region and the Records Management Society Ireland was held on Thursday, 12 November 2009 in the National Library, Dublin.
The meeting looked at electronic records, considering the benefits of electronic document and records management (with a presentation by Gabrielle Kelly of the Records Northern Ireland’s HP TRIM implementation) and the legal admissibility of electronic records (they are legally admissible but you have to guarantee their quality). There was an exploration of the implications for records managers of Sharepoint 2010. Those attending the meeting also had a foretaste of Hewlett Packard’s response to Sharepoint in their soon to be released HP TRIM 7.
