8 March 2012 - Public Sector (formerly Local Government) Group Meeting
The Public Sector Group met on March 8th (London) and the theme for the meeting was ''Records Management in Troubled Times'' The meeting was sponsored by Oyster IMS.
The morning sessions were shared between Jane Proffitt (Proffitt from Records Management) who spoke on a number of aspects of outsourcing records management and Alison North (AN Information Ltd) who spoke about how to decide what records should be retained when an organisation is acquired, dissolved or a building is closed. This wasfollowed by a case study presented by the sponsors entitled How Retention and Disposition is handled at the Bank of England. This was presented by David Hill, Head of Knowledge at the Bank of England and Joanne Frampton, Consultant, Oyster IMS.
The afternoon consisted of a presentation from Cathy Williams from The National Archives on '''The Record'', the TNA's Olympic records programme. The presentations which have been made available are on this page.
